Well this post should reach you on Friday! Hopefully Cyclone Yasi has died out and has not reformed or changed direction. I am pretty certain we will be without power today but hopefully all our friends/ family and animals are all safe without too much damage. I will update how we went when I can most likely on facebook if we have mobile service.
It is Wednesday morning as I type this post and it is very eerie and still, this is the last job I want to get done on the computer before I pack it all away too!
It is still predicted that we will get the tail end of the cyclone that is now a category 5 cyclone with over 3ookm hour winds. It is so big I can't imagine that much of the Queensland coast won't be affected to some extent!
There will be more wide spread flooding after this with the amount of rain that is coming, and I am pretty sure there will be many with long term power outages.
I just hope there have been no loss of lives!
OK Back to more Dusty Attic Goodness...
Soul Food: This lovely bunch of ladies are definitely food for my soul. This photo was
taken when we went out to lunch when my beautiful friend Deb was up in November!
The paper used on this layout is TCP - Studio.
I have used the Mini words, Doily #1 & Fancy Trim #3 & Dress Form #2 on this page.
The dots on the DA pieces were created with liquid pearls and beads.
More Glimmer mist on these pieces too!
So Proud: My Handsome boy Wil, If only he would pose for photos for me more often!!
It always cost me to get him in front of the camera now!
This was taken a few years ago now, he has grown so much since then!
I have used the DA Bare Tree #1, Fence and the Custom cut title " So Proud".
The tree was painted with perfect pearls then added a little distress stickles to the edges. The title was also coated with perfect pearls then Distress stickles before adding a white pen edge to highlight the word.
The fence was covered with timber patterned paper.
I have used the Bo Bunny PP's on this layout.
Family:This went into a frame for my friends 40th. I took these photo's of her family a couple
of years ago. These photos were taken down at our Beach, we had the best time.
I have used versa Ink Cubes to colour the chippy and Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint to give it the crackle effect. (A tutorial for this will be in the forum soon).
I have used the DA0460 - Botanic Accent #1 (love this flourish, it's so versatile), DA0463 - Vintage Nameplate, & DA0315 - Ornate Corner #2.
To See the tutorial on this technique on inking and Distress Crackle Paint go HERE
Sadie:This is one of Leonii's cats, Sadie! She is such a lady too!!!
The photo was taken by my good friend Deb Kingston.
I have used the Chicken Wire and Song Birds on this layout. I have used a mix of glimmer mist
and paints on this one. The flowers were also coloured with glimmer mist.
The background flourish paper is from the KC - Up Up & Away range.
I am a proud Queenslander, My thoughts go out to this beautitul state through all these dificult times!
Take Care & Keep Safe!
Hugs
